NBB professor Robert Raguso instructs graduate student Michael Wolfin on volatile collection from Trillium flowers in Cornell's Mundy Wildflower Garden.

This is a picture of our study organism, the highly vocal plainfin midshipman fish (Porichthys notatus). I was continuously monitored fish vocalizations over the period of 6 weeks in captivity under normal light-dark as well as constant-dark regimes in order to find out whether midshipman vocal behavior is under the control of an endogenous circadian clock.

This is part of a project funded by the NSF dissertation improvement grant (DDIG).

Collecting midshipman from Tomales Bay, CA, where males nest under rocks in the intertidal zone during the summer breeding season.
